And even if you did, digging more into the rights of the photo, you will learn there are many limitations which makes it basically not usable at all for anything other than personal use.

If you are serious about using great imagery for something, especially in the commercial realm, high resolution royalty free photos are your only choice. By going with a respected royalty free company, you can be assured the pictures you choose from that collection can be used in any type of project you may need it for as well as for extended periods of time.

Most of these types of photos will be offered in multiple resolutions which will affect their price. The higher the resolution, usually the more it will cost. Be aware, if you already didn't know, that it's easier to edit an image and make it smaller, than it is to blow up a smaller image. Details will be lost in the latter example, thus why it's always recommended to select the highest resolution you can afford as it also offers you more options if you need to use the image multiple times for your needs.

Royalty free also doesn't mean copyright free in most cases. While the license you purchase does let you use it for what you need, the creator of the image usually retains the copyright. More negotiations are necessary if you find an image that you really want to use to represent your company. While this may incur more costs, it is worthwhile to pursue if you find a photographer that may capture the look that best visually represents what you want to do. Don't Read the Manual OK, I am assuming you all know how to take a photo with your camera and have fully read the manual... nope, nor did I!
